I used to love the Beatles not because of their ability but because they seemed so original. However after I spent a year studying delta blues it really cheapened the music of the 60s all around. It seemed like every song structure or riff I heard went right back to a hit I had already heard from the Beatles or Stones. As the Beatles were supposed to be these great innovators my vision of them got hit especially hard. It seems to me like all they added to the equation was a healthy dosage of POP.

I love his guitar parts and his melodies and his voice. I like folk guitar.

A caveman pounded on a rock thousands of years ago. After that, everyone sampled from his "original". Stop being stupid. And, FWIW, the caveman was trying to mimic a dinosaur when he started drumming on the rock.

Do not worry mudbone I am aware that you are not interested in having an actual music discussion. Just to show there are no hard feelings where should I send your U-2 t-shirt?

I'd be happy to have serious discussion, but this threead is about the game in question...not opinions about how talented the Beatles were.

In that case you should be angry with bklynbornMy roommate got the game today. I will have to be good and high to enjoy it but I intend to give it the old college try later on.

I don't get angry over message board stuff.

I'll take this further off topic: my five favorite Beatles songs (chronological order):1) "Twist and Shout" - Lennon's vocals are ragged and raw - if you know the story behind the recording of this track, it makes you appreciate it that much more.2) "I saw Her Standing There" - one of my earliest memories is when my dad brought home a copy of "Meet the Beatles". He worked for Capitol Records in one of their factories, working one of the presses that actually stamped out the vinyl records. I was three years old. I played that album over and over.3) "Elenor Rigby" - nothing but strings, vocals and haunting lyrics.4) "I am the Walrus" - just plain weird musically and lyrically. John Lennon's practical joke towards everybody who analyzed their lyrics.5) "Revolution" - the distorted electric version, not the version on the White Album - you just can't play this one loud enough

My buddies and I are Rock Band fanatics, and we'll be getting this soon.I hate Guitar Hero, as compared to Rock Band, but I can't wait until Van Halen comes out in December. Another must buy, if for no other reason than to see how badly my fingers get tied together trying to play Eddie's riffs.

The visuals in BRB are fantastic too. My 11 year old is jamming right now and just watching is a trip.

The Beatles suck.

1) "Revolution" - Second place isn't even close. I'm not a huge Beatles fan (though I can appreciate their legacy and influence), but this song is done by a band that has evolved to the top of their game.2) "Come Together" - Possibly the biggest earworm hook in music history. Guaranteed you're hearing it as you read this.3) "Fool on the Hill" - Lyrically my favorite Beatles song of all time, with a haunting tone to it as well.4) "Twist and Shout" - Pure fun. Love that they always did this last in concert, because it tore Lennon's throat apart.5) "Yellow Submarine" - My elementary school music teacher was a guitarist for Paul Revere and the Raiders, and this was the first song he had us perform. Here because it's the first Beatle's song I ever memorized.

Okay, TECWRG started it - it's his fault. He got me to thinking about Beatles music and such and now I've got to list my favorites for all to see - as if they care. I figure there would be about 17 songs on a CD so this would "TheJuice6's Greatest Beatles Hits" on CD...

Twist & Shout
I Saw Her Standing There
Hello Goodbye
Day Tripper
Do You Want To Know A Secret
All My Loving
Get Back
Hey Jude
I Feel Fine
Long Tall Sally
Magical Mystery Tour
Paperback Writer
Penny Lane
Strawberry Fields Forever
The Long And Winding Road
Two Of Us
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

There's just no way to keep it at five songs...

Fine...I'll play along.

1..If I Needed Someone. From the opening guitar to the melody at the end, this song really gets me.

2...Something. Possibly my #1, depending on my mood. The guitar in this song makes me wish I could play something that pretty and soulful.

3...The entire 2nd half of Abbey Road. IMO, this was the absolute peak of the Beatles. The lead-in to "Bathroom Window" and the song itself is so damn intense it never gets old to me.

4..Hey Bulldog, mostly because I used to play it for my girls at bedtime, using one, then the other, as my guitar and tickling them while soloing.

5...Drive My Car. Beep beep, beep beep, yeah!!
