Has the era of worst players begun? Topic

Seble stated that once the new engine is introduced included in the first wave of changes will be worse recruits to allow for the best players to stand out. But it seems this has already started, I thought maybe it might've been a coincidence when I recruited in Tark but it's the same in Phelan. The biggest thing I've noticed is there seems to be far fewer big men at the D2 level and low D1 level that have "high" in athleticism. I haven't seen many, if any lows, almost every big man has average athleticism. In past seasons it was pretty easy to find guys with "high" in athleticism. I don't have a need for guards on either of my D2 teams so I haven't taken notice in that department. Does there seem to be a dropoff with those players also?I'm not saying this is bad, just curious to see if the changes that have been promised are already being rolled out.

DI seems fine in Phelan

I don't see why people are so up in arms about this change in player ratings. It is very clearly needed.

I agree.....I think slowly the recruits are getting worse. And this is a VERY GOOD thing in my opinion. It will allow players that are 100 Ath, 100 reb, 100 lp score 16 ppg on 50% shooting, which is something that doesn't always happen now.

The 100 rated player should be rare like one or 2 a season.

I hope they are introducing the change already. In my opinion, it would be a heck of a lot better if they gradually ratchet down the ratings to the new "normal" over 4-5 seasons instead of just dropping them suddenly in one move. For example, a gradual drop of 5% for 5 consecutive seasons would have much less effect on overall play than a sudden 25% reduction. If they do it all in one season guys who have a lot of spots to fill that season are going to be out of luck for 3+ seasons. While guys who fill 6+ spots the previous season are going to be riding high.

I don't know if this is directed at me or just a general thing, but I think it's fine. As I said in my post, I don't think it's bad. Just wanted to see if anybody has made the same observation as I have.

fyi, for the Allen recruiting season just wrapping up the D1 recruits were fairly close to those a couple seasons ago.

for the overall rating totals of the top 200 ranked at each position; PG unchanged vs two seasons ago; SG down 3; SF up 7, PF up 10, C down 10.

Pretty much standard at D2 and D3 levels since potential rolled out.

Also D1 Smith doesn't seem any different.
