seble / others - JC / tra / EE's / 6 man frosh ?'s Topic

I might simply be missing something on this one, but I ran a camp, I also scouted my national camp, i.e. in my area. When doing so, only 3 non freshmen players came up.

I have 6 open scholies, and likely will have two (could have more) EE's. With only 3 non freshman players in the entire region (I assume if I went to all the camps, I'd see more of them????), it'll be pretty hard to fill up my roster with that few JC players around.

Since the beta is time to learn, try to identify potential issues, the 6 man limit, vs the small qty of non freshman seems off - I played lots of seasons here, possibly more than anyone ever, and this never came up b4 which is my logic behind it being off. I can think of several ways to work around this issue, kind of how I can think of ways to work around how penal EE's are in general, but I'm more curious if I'm missing something doing what I'm doing, and I guess if three non frosh for an entire qtr of the country is deemed an appropriate game design feature?

I started complaining about the 3.0 Juco system very, very early in the beta. Too few, and too hard to "discover." All seble ever said in response was I should scout large states to find Jucos.

Even in the current worlds some states are notorious for being juco rich. California makes up about 25% of the available jucos in current HD.

I've "discovered" about 1100 recruits. Resulting in a total of 33 jucos. 10 of them projected D1.
There appeared to be a few more D1 jucos last season. I found 12 D1 jucos in less than 400 D1 guys.

Oregon and Washington have an active and competitive JUCO basketball program in the NWAC, but no JUCO players show up. Expanding the available JUCO players to areas which have them in real life may solve many of the current problems in this game.

I'd like to see jucos already discovered for everyone. Transfers too.

I like that idea as well.

There had been talk of making transfers available to everyone within 300 (500?) miles...did that not take?

juco's are relatively abundant real life, almost unlimited vs the need, and are used for this very purpose, to fill out rosters when teams miss on freshman.

juco's in real life seldom get recruited until late, as they are stop gap / fill in type solutions.

I think the transfers contact X amount of schools that are close to them.

During the second recruiting cycle last season I was contacted (@ Northern Kentucky) by about 10 transfers.
They all showed initial grades of F/F/F, but when scouting a few of them were 600+ players.

Not necessarily. More and more freebies (even free discovery) don't necessarily make the game any better.

I know seble doesn't want to add recruits to phase 2. But this is one of the options I shared....... Adding Jucos to phase 2 recruiting.

In world 2, just ran a local camp for 200, had exactly ZERO juco's of the 180 that showed up.

Does anyone know why some number less than the 200 number show up at the camp, in this case 180 of 200?

I think its due to the parameters you set so that you get full benefit for the money that is allocated for the camp.

For example if before any camp runs you were to fully scout every single local player using the other available scouting tools, it would be difficult to find anyone who would come to the camp within the distance requirements that you hadn't yet fully scouted (I think camps move up two levels so players at level 3 might not even be eligible).

It was the first action I did. I didn't consciously set any parameters. I only did the camp so far.
